We went on Friday and had her 6 month check up along with her synagis injection. She ended up having 5 shots and one oral vaccine. She had the same reaction to her flu shot that I did. It was swollen at the injection spot and red. She was a little fussy this weekend but over all I expected worse. She weighs 16lbs, and is 27 1/2" tall now.
She had a lot of fun on Sunday having pictures done. Her personality grows everyday. She talked and talked on Sunday evening.
We were told from her pediatrician to go ahead with the Ferber Method over Thanksgiving break (cry it out method) Sounds like so much fun, but if it works then she should sleep through the night. I can't even imagine what that is like. She has been drinking anywhere from 3-5 bottles a night but she doesnt drink much during the day. The doctor said she will very soon be either crawling or walking depending on what she wants to do. She now gets on all fours and starts to rock back and forth. She will crawl but only using her head to move her front not her arms. We have to go through and baby proof the house because it is going to be soon that she is mobile. We have also started her on a sippy cup and was told to introduce water into her diet. Stay away from juices because it is just extra sugar right now that she doesn't need and is already getting from the fruit baby food. She likes to use her sippy cup to teeth on. She sits there and just chomps on it. I am nervous because she has started to drool again and chews everything. I am hoping it is just from the bottom two teeth growing a little and that we aren't starting the top ones already. She needs a little bit of a break. Hope everyone has a great holiday. Hopefully we wont have to go back to the doctors until December's synagis and second dose of the flu vaccine. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Back to the doctor's
Autumn and I had to venture back to the doctors yesterday. She weighed 15lbs 4 oz this time. She has her first cold. They wanted to check her lungs to make sure she wasn't at risk for anything. They said they sound great right now. We were told to watch for any fever or changes and to notify them immediately. She hasn't been very happy the last few days. She has the worst cry right now. It will break your heart. She is so hoarse from her sore throat that she sounds the same way she did in UVA when she cried all night long the first night when they wouldn't let her eat.
We just got a call from the prescription people who fill her synagis order. They are checking with her doctor today to see what her weight is and how much they need to send then putting it threw insurance and calling me back with the co-payment amount. Hopefully since we had 50mg left over they should only need to send another 100mg. I had the nurse look yesterday and we guessed her at being around 16lbs on the 21st. But that is only a few weeks away and I don't know if she will actually gain that much.

It's back.....
Autumn ended up getting Thrush again. She went to the doctor yesterday to confirm it. It doesn't look like it normally looks. They said we caught it pretty early and it is not that bad of a case of it. She weighs 15lbs 2oz at 5 months old. She gets bigger everyday. She had been sleeping really fitfully. I thought that the two bottom teeth coming in were to blame. Turns out it may have been the thrush. She started meds yesterday and had the best night in a while. We did three three hour "naps". She took better naps today at the sitter's than she had been and is already asleep tonight. She needs to catch up on sleep though. She has bags under her eyes and they are always red rimmed. The doctor said she is most likely sleep deprived she can tell by her eyes. That makes me feel so bad but no matter what we do she just won't stay asleep. Even with me laying next to her she wakes up almost hourly to toss and fuss then will settle back in. My goal this weekend is to keep her sleeping until she is refreshed(and me too!).
